Tell us about yourself!
I’m 39 years old. Mom to a rescue pibble and kitty. Full time children’s librarian and part time crafter of leashes, collars, and pet accessories.
What was your main wellness goal with the Challenge?
My wellness goal is to have normal thyroid levels without medication and feel good.
Which protocol are you following?
Hormone Balancing Protocol from the Level Up Guide. (in the Complete Intermittent Fasting Bundle)
Did you have any hesitations before starting the Complete Intermittent Fasting Bundle?
I was hesitant to try intermittent fasting because I was worried I would feel hangry. I had also tried eliminating sugar and processed foods in the past but felt so terrible after the first few days that I stopped.
Have you tried anything else in the past?
I have tried running, calorie counting, and SparkPeople.
What has been your biggest wellness win?
I went the entire 28 days without added sugar, processed foods, or grains. I felt amazing! I had so much energy that I was able to make most of my meals from scratch and prep bone broth and enchilada sauce over the weekends. My sleep has become more restful so I have been waking up earlier without my alarm. Also, my skin got so much better. It isn’t dry and the breakouts and redness have gone away.
What was your favorite meal?
Anything with zucchini noodles! Zucchini noodle burrito bowls might be my favorite.
Did you have a Nutrition Nerd Moment?
I began shopping at the local farmers market and getting locally raised, grass fed, grass finished beef, pasture raised chickens and eggs. Learning that the best quality meats that I can eat are those that are raised locally and where the animals are treated humanely makes me feel so happy about my choices.
Keto Coffee or Keto Tea?
I go back and forth between keto coffee and black coffee.
Is there anything else you want to share?
My husband and several friends and coworkers have commented on how much energy I have and have started asking for the recipes I use.
