What This Meal Plan Is All About

The great thing about eating meals rich in high quality protein, fat and fiber is that it removes the “need” to count calories.

Each of these food sources raises our satiety hormones peptide YY, CCK and GLP-1 that signal to our brain that we don’t need to keep eating.

This approach is called “ad libitum” eating, which means you get to eat until you’re satisfied. And there’s a lot of research showing that it’s a great tool for sustainable fat loss.(1)

The reported benefits include:

  • increased fat burning due to less muscle loss

This is because research shows we feel more satisfied with 3 larger meals instead of 6 smaller meals throughout the day.(2) It also allows you to get some gut rest between the meals to help prevent bloating.

FAQ’s

Is it okay to mix and match my meals?

Yes! Each meal provides around 30 grams of complete protein and all focus on protein, fat and fiber. So if you feel like swapping one out for another, go for it!

Can I eat the same thing every day?

If you find it easier to prepare one or two meals for breakfast and lunch throughout the week, you certainly can. Some recipes (like the dinner recipes) make more than one serving and therefore can be used as leftovers the next day as well. However, I do recommend trying to switch up your meals as often as is comfortable for you so that you can prevent food fatigue.

Why aren’t calories / macros listed?

The recipes don’t provide calorie information for a reason. It’s incredibly easy to get lost in calorie counting and lose sight of satiety cues and the hormonal effects that the ingredients have on the body. After all, calorie trackers are a fairly new invention that we didn’t have access to for thousands of years until now. Each of the recipes are focused on using ingredients that naturally don’t trigger the urge to “overeat” while boosting satiety hormones. This is a long term, lifestyle approach to help you learn to eat foods that make you feel satisfied and reduce sugar cravings while allowing the body to naturally shift into using fat burning mechanisms — all while reducing your reliance on calorie trackers.
